Christoper White

Christopher B. White is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Italian at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Kenyon College and a Master of Arts in Italian from the Middlebury College School in Italy. He has taught various levels of Italian language, film, and culture as an adjunct instructor at the University of Arizona, as a visiting instructor at Oberlin College, and as a teaching assistant at UCLA. He has presented papers on Italian cinema at a number of academic conferences on a wide range of topics, including Mario Monicelli, Federico Fellini, and Pier Paolo Pasolini. Christopher recently authored an article concerning postwar film censorship in the Journal of Italian Cinema & Media Studies 1.2 (2013) and published a translation of an excerpt from Fellini’s “Fare un film” in Inventory 3 (2012). He is currently completing a dissertation that focuses on Italian comic cinema of the 1950s.
